Thailand is blessed with many "traditional"
Thai massage establishments. Traditional Thai Massage is a very therapeutic form of deep tissue massage involving stretching and manipulation of muscles and joints. If you’ve got aches and pains, it can be a great way to ease them!
Thai Traditional massage establishments are everywhere, but they are not all created equal. Some are “straight” and some are “flexible”
whilst others are clearly oriented towards gentlemen’s requirements. However, it can be a little difficult to tell which is which... SAME SAME - BUT DIFFERENT...
If the price for Traditional Thai massage is listed at 150-250 baht per hour, and the ladies are mostly more mature, and you are not asked to pay first – you may well be in the wrong place. On the other hand, if you’ve got aches and pains, you may be in the right place… up to you!
By tradition, Thai massage is a floor-based massage style, done on a mattress at floor level. Rooms are divided by screens, and it is not uncommon for groups or families to enjoy a massage together. Also offered is;
- Thai-style Reflexology or foot massage.
- Aroma-therapy, from a range of oils, scents and essences.
- Herbal poultices & steaming pads of soothing herbs.
These are larger, flash-looking places catering to the tourism industry and which charge exorbitant rates to bathe you in goat’s milk and rose petals… They also offer Thai Traditional massage, aromatherapy, and oil massage. These are virtually all straight establishments.
